A Certificate of Successful Completion will not be issued to anyone arriving late (late is defined as once the activity begins, registration closes at the time the activity begins), or returning late any amount of time following time designated for a break or lunch. Exceptions will not be made.
Texas Health and Human Services Commission Long-Term Care Regulation, Regulatory Services Division is approved with distinction as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by Colorado Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

AlertMedia: Be Prepared, Stay Informed: This 1-hour webinar will inform providers about the emergency communication system called AlertMedia. Participants will learn how this system will be used and their responsibility in signing up for the system. This webinar is appropriate for all provider types and aims to ensure knowledge of the system's use in emergency situations.
CNA Series: Communication, Conflict and Privacy: The CNA webinar series covers a range of important nurse aide skills, such as communication, resident rights, maintaining safety, and information regarding the care of residents with dementia. The objective of the series is to empower the CNA in becoming an important member of the interdisciplinary team and the long-term care survey process.

Culture Change: Improving Quality of Life in Long Term Care: This two-hour webinar, for nursing facility surveyors and providers, such as registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, social workers, and nursing facility administrators, introduces participants to apply culture change practices within facilities to address the importance of language and labeling, the Holistic Approach to Transformational Change (HATCh), and provide participants with culture change principles within the context of the federal rules and regulations.

Culture Change: Transforming Care within the Regulations: This course, for nursing facility surveyors and providers, such as registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, social workers, and nursing facility administrators, introduces participants to the concept of culture change, provides participants the opportunity to discuss culture change principles within the context of the federal regulations, and offers participants the opportunity to set implementation goals to enhance the quality of care provided to residents.

Dehydration: Prevention and Intervention in Long-Term Care: This two-hour webinar, for nursing facility surveyors and providers, such as registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, social workers, and nursing facility administrators, introduces participants to discuss the purpose of water in our body, different types of dehydration, review at risk conditions, signs and symptoms of dehydration and preventative measures that can be facilitated in the LTC setting.

Emergency Preparedness for Long Term Care Providers: This course provides guidance that an administrator, emergency preparedness coordinator, disaster coordinator, registered nurse, licensed vocational nurse, social worker, and other staff members can use to develop or review a disaster plan. You will learn the steps of emergency preparedness (including risk assessment and plan development) and the core functions of emergency management. You will also learn the federal requirements for emergency preparedness. The course applies to nursing homes, assisted living facilities, intermediate care facilities for persons with an intellectual disability or related conditions, day activity and health services providers, PPECCs, and HCSSAs.

Flu & COVID-19: What You Need to Know: In this webinar we will review the similarities and differences between the flu and COVID-19 viruses, testing and treatments for both viruses along with infection control practices. We will also look at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance on the flu and COVID-19 vaccines. This webinar is appropriate for all provider types.

From Awareness to Action: Responding to Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation: From Awareness to Action: Responding to Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation is designed to equip participants with the skills necessary to identify, prevent, and respond to instances of abuse, neglect, and exploitation (ANE) in nursing facilities. During the course, participants will be able to recognize the indicators and root causes of ANE, identify the federal tags related to ANE, learn about the nursing facility's responsibility to self-report, and develop a plan of removal for ANE.

Inappropriate Placements in Assisted Living Facilities: This course describes what inappropriate placement looks like in an assisted living facility, situations that may come up that make a resident no longer appropriate for the facility, and what providers can do if they identify a resident who is no longer appropriate for their facility. There are no CE's awarded for this course.
Infection Control- Break the Chain of Infection: This eight-hour course identifies the federal and state regulations that govern infection control in Long-term Care. Participants identify the links in the chain of infection and learn how to practice Standard, Enhanced Barrier, and Transmission-based Precautions. Participants will review how to properly use personal protective equipment and practice recognizing outbreak. Participants will receive a certificate of attendance upon successful completion of the training.

Infection Control in Long-Term Care: This two-hour webinar, for nursing facility surveyors and providers, such as registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, social workers, and nursing facility administrators, introduces participants to strategies and tools to assess and develop interventions to prevent infections in older adults and Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. The webinar will address infection control practices and issue of infection prevention and control in the Texas Long-Term care setting.

Life Safety Code and Maintenance of Nursing Facilities: This in-person classroom training helps participants maintain their fire alarm, sprinkler, and HVAC systems. While many of the facility staff can gain from this class, the information is especially suited for the maintenance staff. Other modules discuss the maintenance of a building's construction type, smoke barriers, and corridor doors. Commercial cooking equipment, medical gas, and exit requirements are also discussed.
NOTE: Each participant must bring to the training a copy NURSING FACILITY REQUIREMENTS 40 TAC §19.300 THROUGH §19.344 as well as an 8.5" X 11" copy of the floor plan of your facility.
LNFA Series: Complaints, ANE, QAPI: This 1-hour webinar provides insight on the complaint process, regulation related to abuse, neglect, exploitation and administration. Participants will be exposed to quality assurance/ performance improvement, data-driven approaches for the Nursing Home Facility. This course is targeted to licensed nursing facility administrators, registered nurses, and those in leadership roles in regulated nursing facilities. Participants will gain valuable resources that will increase their ability to improve the quality of life and overall well-being of the individual within their nursing home settings.

Reporting Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation Changes and Self-Reporting Incidents for Intermediate Care Facilities: This course will focus on Legislative changes for ICF/IID facilities related to reporting Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation (ANE) and look at the process for self-reporting incidents to Complaint and Incident Intake (CII), as per Texas Administrative Code (TAC).
Scope and Severity Training for ALFs, DAHS, ICF/IID and PPECC Providers: House Bill 2025 was passed during the 85th Texas Legislature, regular Session, 2017 and required HHSC to develop a system to record and track the scope and severity of licensure violations by ALF, DAHS, ICF/IID and PPECC facilities for the purpose of assessing an administrative penalty or taking other enforcement action. This 60-minute webinar will provide an overview of Long-Term Care Regulatory, examine House Bill 2025 as it relates to scope and severity and review the scope and severity chart and definitions of terms associated with the chart.

Virtual Dementia Tour: 'Life Through Their Eyes': The Virtual Dementia Tour is a sensory training that lets participants feel the overwhelming effects of the aging process when combined with Alzheimer's disease or dementia.
Each tour will simulate what it might be like to have dementia symptoms or other age-related conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, hearing disruption and impaired vision. Participants will be asked to follow simple instructions to replicate what someone with dementia or other age-related conditions may experience. Weight Loss in Older Adults: This two-hour webinar, for nursing facility surveyors and providers, such as registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, social workers, and nursing facility administrators, introduces participants to prevent weight loss in older adults and Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. The webinar will cover involuntary weight loss, assessment of nutritional status, loss parameters and pertinent labs, malnutrition, identify risk factors and interventions/preventive measures, and review avoidable versus unavoidable negative outcomes.
