Agencies providing home dialysis must establish an effective procedure for the immediate transfer to a local Medicare-certified hospital for clients requiring emergency medical care.

Furthermore, agencies must have a written transfer agreement with such a hospital, and all physician members of the agency's medical staff must have admitting privileges at such a hospital.
