Below is a listing of classes available to Individualized Skills and Socialization providers. Classes will be added as they become available. To register for a class, click on the course link below for the desired date and time and follow the instructions. No CEs are offered for these courses, but attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.

Course Descriptions
HCS Certification Standards: An Overview of Changes: This 2-hour webinar explores the changes effective within the Home and Community Based Services program. It provides clarification on changes pertaining to: the new location of rules within TAC pertaining to this program and the structure of those new rules. Other topics include: Individual Rights, Staff Member and Service Provider requirements, Nursing, Emergency Response Systems, Behavior Support plans and Protective Devices, among others. The training also covers changes relative to HHSC actions. Formal CEU's will not be offered for this training, but registered attendees will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
Hurricane and Flooding Readiness for Home and Community Based Services and Texas Home Living (HCS /TxHML) & Individualized Skills and Socialization: This webinar covers HCS/TxHmL and Individualized Skills and Socialization provider requirements related to Hurricane and Flooding readiness. Topics include risk assessment, emergency management and the eight core functions required for an emergency plan. This webinar will not be recorded. CE's will be offered for the following disciplines.
Registered Nurses earn 0.75 contact hours upon successful completion of this activity.

Individualized Skills and Socialization Program Survey Process and ANE Overview: This 90-minute webinar covers the survey process and Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation identification and reporting guidelines for Individualized Skills and Socialization Providers. Topics include a review of the steps and actions which occur during a survey and what to expect during an inspection. Additional topics included identifying, preventing and reporting matters pertaining to abuse, neglect and exploitation of individuals served in this program. Formal CEUs will not be offered, but those persons who register for the course and complete an evaluation will receive a Certificate of Attendance
Introduction to Individualized Skills and Socialization Program: This one-day training will cover the licensing process for the Individualized Skills and Socialization Program, as well as an overview of the rules, survey process and reporting requirements for allegations of abuse, neglect and exploitation.
Regulatory Services Incident Reporting for Individualized Skills and Socialization Providers: This training covers HHSC Regulatory Services reporting requirements for providers of Individualized Skills and Socialization. Topics include Definitions of complaints and incidents, required actions to report incidents, including how to navigate the TULIP system, and information needed when reporting incidents. Formal CEUs will not be offered for this training, but a Certificate of Attendance will be provided following completion of the course.
Understanding Reportable Incidents for Individualized Skills and Socialization Providers: This training covers HHSC Regulatory Services reporting requirements for providers of Individualized Skills and Socialization. Topics include Definitions of complaints and incidents, required actions to report incidents, including how to navigate the TULIP system, and information needed when reporting incidents. Formal CEUs will not be offered for this training, but a Certificate of Attendance will be provided following completion of the course.
Writing Acceptable Plans of Correction for HCS and TxHmL: This interactive training is designed to train staff on the process for writing acceptable plans of correction for HCS and TxHmL programs. No CE are offered for this webinar, however a certificate of attendance will be provided to all participants who meet attendance requirements.
Writing Plans of Correction for Individualized Skills and Socialization Providers: This 1.5-hour course covers the five components of a Plan of correction. It also involves exercises discussing correct versions versus incorrect versions of a Plan of correction. Timelines and regulatory rules pertaining to Plans of corrections, Informal Dispute Resolutions and similar topics will also be covered. This is an interactive training and attendees should expect to engage with various handouts and decision-making activities throughout the course of this training event. Formal CEUs will not be offered but a Certificate of Attendance will be provided for persons who register and complete the post-course evaluation.
