HCSSA Training Opportunities

Below is a listing of the numerous training opportunities available to HCSSA providers at no cost. Please note the mandated pre-survey training is only available on-line and specific instructions are in the line below. OASIS training continues to be offered in a classroom setting in various cities. The schedule and locations for OASIS can be accessed using the link below. In order to cancel from any of the OASIS classes, please email LTCRJointTraining@hhs.texas.gov, so that others who need to attend can register.

Home Health OR Hospice Pre-Survey Computer Based Training provides a general overview of state licensure rules, including initial survey requirements (Title 40 Chapter 97) and Medicare certification (42 CFR §484) requirements for Home and Community Support Services Agencies (HCSSA). Note: Home health agencies seeking Medicare certification are strongly encouraged to attend OASIS training to learn about compliance with the OASIS Conditions of Participation and where to find CMS OASIS references and resources.

Community Living & Support Services Training required for training for newly contracted CLASS Case Management Agencies (CMAs) and Direct Service Agencies (DSAs) and is intended to provide basic job skills information. This training is also for new staff of current CLASS provider agencies. Presenters will be staff from the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services.

Financial Management Service Agency Training is mandatory for:

  • applicants that want to contract with HHSC to provide financial management services (FMS) as a Financial Management Services Agency (FMSA) provider; and
  • current FMSA providers that want to amend their contract as a FMSA to provide services to individuals in any additional program or programs — including the Home and Community-based Services (HCS) and Texas Home Living (TxHmL) programs.
