Request to Retest for NA in Expired Status

Please go to section 5 Nurse Aide Applications in the Training Guide for steps on how to get to below screens pictured in this section. 

Today, we will be discussing the step-by-step process for applying for a retest as a Nurse Aide (NA) with an "Expired" status in the state of Texas. Please note that the information we'll cover is crucial for those who already possess a professional license but are currently in expired status.

Initial Application Steps

Let's start the application process. On the application screen, you'll encounter a series of questions. To proceed correctly, answer the following:


Question 1: Select "No" for starting a request for criminal history evaluation letter.


Question 2: Select "No" for starting a name change application.


Question 3: Select "Nurse Aide (NA)" for the licensure type.


Question 4: Select "No" for having an active Out-of State License and pursuing reciprocity.Personal Info Tab

Application Continuation

Continue answering the questions:


Question 5: Select "No" for meeting employment requirement for renewal.


Question 6: Select "No" for requiring additional training to clear the test.


Question 7: Select "Request to Retest for Nurse Aide in Expired Status".


After answering these, click "Next" to proceed to the next application screen.Update Persona Info Page

Personal Information Verification and Update

After clicking next, you'll find yourself on the Personal Information tab. Please review the information displayed and acknowledge it by clicking the checkbox. If any update is needed, click on the "click here" button. Once your information is correct and acknowledged, click on "next" button to proceed to the next tab.

Application Continuation

After updating your personal information, you'll be guided through various tabs including the Acknowledgement, Attestation for Application, and Military Provision tabs. For each, review the information and click the "Next" button to proceed.



Uploading Documents

The next tab, Documents, allows you to upload required files for your application. You can either drag and drop files into the provided documents list or click on "Add Additional Attachment" to upload more. To add attachments, enter the attachment name, description, and then upload the document.

Addressing Deficiencies

The subsequent "Deficiencies" tab automatically displays any deficiencies in your application. Review these and click on the 'Go to Step' button. The system will guide you to the area of deficiency. Once addressed, return to the "Deficiencies" tab. If you have no deficiencies, simply click "Next".

Reviewing and Submitting Your Application

After addressing deficiencies, you'll reach the "Summary" and "Payment" tabs. Here you can review your application and confirm that no payment is required. Next, you'll reach the "Submit" tab. Click on the "Submit" button to finalize your application.

Post-submission Confirmation

After clicking "Submit", you'll see a confirmation screen with your application number. Remember to keep a record of this number for future reference. Click on "Done" to exit and return to the homepage. Congratulations, your application has been successfully submitted!
